PCI coal imports via Vizag up 26.80% in April m-o-m

May 9: Pulverised Coal Injection (PCI) imports through the port of Vizag rose by 26.80% to 65,570 tons in April 2014 against 51,711 tons reported in March, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
Imports of PCI coal in the entire financial year of 2013-14 stood at 529,569 tons.
Following is the monthly break-up of PCI coal imports via Vizag Port in 2012-13 and through 2013-14:

In April, PCI coal imports comprised 22,110 tons from Canada at a unit price of Rs 7,435 ($122) and 43,460 tons from Australia at a unit price of Rs 7,701 ($127).
PCI coal imports for March comprised consignments from Australia in a price band of Rs 7,699 - Rs 7,918 ($122-$128) per ton.
