PCI imports through Chennai Port down 34% m-o-m in Dec

January 28: PCI coal imports through Chennai Port in December 2014 fell 33.96% to 35 tons against a volume of 53 tons exported in November, according to provisional data available with ICMW.

There were no imports of the material in October 2014 while the imports of the same stood at 20 tons in September 2014.

There have been no imports of the material for six consecutive months till August 2014.

In December, the entire consignment arrived from UK at a price range of Rs 28,994- Rs 29,038 ($464) per ton.

In November, the entire consignment arrived from the UK at a unit price of Rs 29,333 ($474).
