PCI coal imports through the port of Kolkata were at 58,568 tons in April 2016 against 92,526 tons in March 2016, showing a month-on-month decrease of 36.70%, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
Total imports of the material in fiscal of 2015-16 stood at 756,051 tons while the volume for the month dropped 9.14% year-on-year against 64,460 tons reported in April 2015.

In April 2016, the entire volume arrived from Australia in a band of Rs 4,358 – Rs 4,870 ($65-73) per ton.
March 2016 saw the entire volume arriving from Australia too but in a band of Rs 4,783 – Rs 5,494 ($71-81) per ton.
