PCI imports via Kolkata Port drop 59% in Dec m-o-m

January 16: PCI coal imports through the port of Kolkata dropped by 58.71% to 26,895 tons in December 2014 against a volume of 65,143 tons in November, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
Imports of the material amounted to 56,085 tons in November 2013 while, for the first nine months of the current fiscal, the volumes stood at 396,369 tons against 273,190 tons recorded for the same period in the previous fiscal.
Total PCI imports via Kolkata Port stood at 397,790 tons for the entire fiscal of 2013-14.

In December, all the consignments arrived from Australia in a unit price of Rs 6,313 ($101).
In November, 63,599 tons arrived from Australia in a band of Rs 6,305 – Rs 6,643 ($102-107) per ton and 1,544 tons from South Africa at a unit price of Rs 6,584 ($106).
