PCI imports via Kolkata down 48% in Oct m-o-m

November 26: PCI coal imports through the port of Kolkata dropped 47.78% to 23,425 tons in October 2014 against a volume of 44,865 tons in September, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
Imports of the material amounted to 24,251 tons in October 2013 while, for the first seven months of the current fiscal, the volumes stood at 304,331 tons against 167,671 tons recorded for the same period in the previous fiscal.
Total PCI imports via Kolkata Port stood at 397,790 tons for the entire fiscal of 2013-14.

In October, all the consignments arrived from Australia in a price band of Rs 6,608 – Rs 6,667 ($106-107) per ton.
In September, 43,200 tons arrived from Australia in a band of Rs 6,175 – Rs 7,169 ($100-116) per ton, 1,650 tons from South Africa at an unit price of Rs 6,496 ($106) while 15 tons came from Mozambique at a unit price of Rs 1,493 ($24).
