PCI imports via Mormugao fall 13% in Oct m-o-m

November 20: PCI coal imports through the port of Mormugao stood at 74,580 tons in October 2014, down 13.23% from 85,951 tons imported in September, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
In October 2013, the volume of PCI coal imports through the port stood at nil.
In the first seven (April-October) months of the current financial year (2014-15), PCI coal imports through the port stood at 171,983 tons as against 68,075 tons imported during the same period of 2013-14.
Following is the monthly break-up of PCI coal imports via Mormugao in 2013-14 and 2014-15:

During October 2014, the entire material arrived from Australia at a price of Rs 6,952 ($112) per ton.
However, in September, the entire material came in from Australia at a price range of Rs 6,544-Rs 7,412 ($106-$122) per ton.
