PCI coal imports through the port of Paradip in March 2016 were at 42,739 tons while in February 2016 these stood at 132,575 tons, dropping 67.76% month-on-month, as per provisional data available with ICMW.
Total volumes of PCI imports in fiscal 2015-16 were at 783,582 tons against 461,165 tons recorded in the previous fiscal (2014-15), growing 69.91% year-on-year.
In March 2015, imports of PCI via the port were at 87,522 tons.

In March 2016, all consignments arrived from Australia in a band of Rs 4,601 – Rs 6,121 ($68-90) per ton.
In February 2016, 68,993 tons arrived from Australia in a band of Rs 4,800 – Rs 5,299 ($70-77) per ton, and 63,582 tons from Canada at a unit price of Rs 4,751 ($69).
