PCI imports via Vizag Port at 22,780 tons in January

PCI coal imports through Vizag Port in January 2016 were at 22,780 tons while there were no movement of the material in December 2015, as per provisional data available with ICMW.

In January 2015, however, volumes were at nil.

Thus, total PCI imports of the commodity for the first 10 months of the current fiscal of 2015-16 stood at 428,211 tons while the volume for the same period of the previous fiscal stood unchanged at 425,858 tons, showing almost flat growth at 0.55% in this period year-on-year.

On a cumulative basis, imports of the material for fiscal 2014-15 stood at 646,679 tons.
 

Following is the monthly break-up of PCI coal imports via Vizag Port in 2015-16 and through 2014-15:

January 2016 imports comprised a single consignment from Australia at a unit price of Rs 4,887 ($72) and a single consignment from Canada at a unit price of Rs 4,749 ($70).

In November 2015, a single consignment arrived from Australia at a unit price of Rs 4,803 ($73).
