Pak Nov coal imports via RBCT fall 31.55% m-o-m

December 3: Pakistan’s coal import from Richards Bay Coal Terminal (RBCT) of South Africa during the month of November stood at 110,966 tons, down 31.55% from 162,106 tons imported in October, according to data available with ICMW.
During November 2013, Pakistan’s coal import figure from RBCT stood at 54,380 tons.
During the 11 months of 2014, Pakistan’s total coal imports from South Africa stood at 2,961,370 tons, up 62.12% from 1,826,654 tons imported during the corresponding period of 2013.
It augurs well for Pakistan to import coal from South Africa instead of Indonesia, because of competitive freight rates and better quality of coal, industry sources said.
