December 22: Pakistan’s coal imports from Richards Bay Coal Terminal (RBCT) in South Africa (SA), on a month-on-month basis, rose a marginal 1.85% to 270,030 tons in November 2015 compared to 265,133 tons in the preceding month of October, as per data available with ICMW.
On a year-on-year basis, November imports in 2015 were up 143.34% against 110,966 tons seen in the same month in the previous fiscal.
Pakistan’s coal imports from RBCT stood at 2,528,199 tons in the first eight months (April-November, 2015-16) compared to 2,510,782tons recorded in the same period of the previous fiscal, showing an increase of 11.45% year-on-year over the same period.
Pakistan’s coal imports from RBCT of South Africa during the first 11 months of 2015 (January-November) stood at 3,396,779 tons, up 14.70% from 2,961,370 tons imported in the same period in 2014, shows the data.
