Pakistan’s 2015 coal imports from SA up 15.24% y-o-y

The total coal import by Pakistan from South Africa’s Richards Bay Coal Terminal (RBCT) in calendar year 2015 stood at 3,670,039 tons against 3,184,690 tons in 2014, up 15.24% year-on-year, according to data available with ICMW.
Pakistan’s coal imports from RBCT, on a month-on-month basis, rose a marginal 1.20% to 273,260 tons in December 2015 compared to 270,030 tons in the preceding month of November.
On a year-on-year basis, December imports in 2015 were up 22.36% against 223,320 tons seen in the same month in the previous fiscal.
Pakistan’s coal imports from RBCT stood at 3,071,489 tons in the first nine months (April-December, 2015-16) compared to 2,734,102 tons recorded in the same period of the previous fiscal, showing an increase of 10.59% year-on-year over the same period.
