Panel set up to draft Mumbai Port waterfront roadmap

July 22: The ministries of shipping and road transport and highways constituted a committee for preparing a roadmap for the development of Mumbai Port`s waterfront and port land, said an official release from the Ministry of Shipping.

Minister of State for Road Transport, Highways & Shipping Krishanpal Gurjar said the total land available in this port is about 753 hectares and the approximate value of the same is around Rs 46,000 crore.

He pointed out that this doesn’t include value of th water area under Mumbai Port. The valuation is likely to vary, depending upon the use of land, such as residential, commercial, industrial, permissible floor space index (FSI), etc.
