Paradip December coal handling down 28.37% m-o-m

Handling of coal (imports of coking and non-coking coal and export of non-coking coal) by Paradip Port stood at 2,254,234 tons in December 2015, a fall of 28.37% from 3,147,057 tons handled in November 2015, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
Handling of coal by the port was also down by 33.56% year-on-year, compared to 3,392,748 tons handled in the same month last year.
During the first nine months (April-December) of 2015-16, coal handling by the port stood at 28,320,735 tons, registering an increase of 1% as against 28,040,526 tons handled in the same period of 2014-15.
Handling of imported coal (coking and non-coking) by Paradip Port stood at 1,255,374 tons in December 2015, witnessing a rise of 2.98% from 1,219,086 tons handled in November 2015.
On an annual basis, handling of imported coal by the port was down 19.67%, compared to 1,562,851 tons recorded for December 2014.
During the first nine months (April-December) of 2015-16, imported coal handling by the port stood at 11,497,138 tons, showing a fall of 7.06% from 12,370,146 tons handled in the same period of 2014-15.
Handling of imported non-coking coal by Paradip Port stood at 532,326 tons in December 2015, witnessing a rise of 13.83% from 467,660 tons handled in November 2015.
On an annual basis, handling of imported non-coking coal by the port was down 42.11%, compared to 919,558 tons in December 2014.
For the first nine months (April-December) of 2015-16, imported non-coking coal handling by the port stood at 5,322,734 tons, showing a fall of 20.64% from 6,706,986 tons handled in the same period of 2014-15.
Handling of imported coking coal by Paradip Port stood at 723,048 tons in December 2015, witnessing a fall of 3.78% from 751,426 tons handled in November 2015.
Handling of imported coking coal by the port in December 2014 stood at 643,293 tons, which shows that handling was up 12.40% y-o-y.
During the first nine months (April-December) of 2015-16, imported coking coal handling by the port stood at 6,174,404 tons, showing a rise of 9.03% from 5,663,160 tons handled in the same period of 2014-15.
Meanwhile, handling of exported coal (export of non-coking coal) by Paradip Port stood at 2,098,860 tons in December 2015, witnessing a rise of 8.86% from 1,927,971 tons handled in November 2015.
During the first nine months (April-December) of 2015-16, exported coal handling by this port stood at 16,823,597 tons, showing a rise of 7.35% from 15,670,380 tons handled in the same period of 2014-15.
Handling of exported coal by the port in December 2014 stood at 1,829,897 tons, which shows that handling was up 14.70% y-o-y.
