Paradip November coking coal imports up 17% m-o-m

December 17: Imports of coking coal through the port of Paradip rose 17.14% to 501,683 tons in November 2014 against a volume of 428,268 tons reported in October, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
Imports of coking coal in November 2013 stood at 780,965 tons.
Total imports of coking coal via the port during the first eight months of the current financial year (2014-15) stood at 6,218,889 tons from 3,971,576 tons imported through the port during the same period in 2013-14.
Total coking coal imports for the last fiscal of 2013-14 stood at 5,954,933 tons.

In November, 491,443 tons were imported from Australia in a range of Rs 3,638 – Rs 8,445 ($59-135) per ton and the balance 10,240 tons from New Zealand at a unit price of Rs 8,126 ($131).
In October, 328,645 tons were imported from Australia in a range of Rs 3,010 – Rs 8,056 ($48-129) per ton, 62,343 tons came in from Indonesia at a unit price of Rs 2,575 ($41), 24,315 tons from New Zealand in a band of Rs 7,961 – Rs 8,126 ($128-131) and 12,965 tons from Mozambique at a unit price of Rs 7,583 ($122).
