A volume of 32,926 tons of met coke was imported through Paradip Port in February 2016 against 34,632 tons recorded in January 2016, showing a drop of 4.93% month-on-month, as per provisional data available with ICMW.
In February 2015, imports of met coke via the port were at 36,298 tons.
Total volumes of met coke imports in the first 11 months of the current fiscal of 2015-16 were at 513,959 tons against 616,492 tons recorded in the same period of the previous fiscal (2014-15), declining 16.63% year-on-year.
Total met coke imports through the port during the previous financial year of 2014-15 were at 711,612 tons.

In February 2016, the entire material arrived from China at a unit price of Rs 6,808 ($99).
January 2016, however, saw 13,632 tons arriving from China at a price range of Rs 8,518 – Rs 11,235 ($127-167) per ton and the balance 21,000 tons from Colombia at a unit price of Rs 12,080 ($180) per ton.
