Paradip Port average turnaround time reduces

The average turn-round time for ships at Paradip Port has reduced to 4.5 days in 2015-16, registering a growth of 35.80% from 7.01 days during 2014-15, according to data released by the port.

Though the port handled a total of 1,561 ships during financial year 2015-16 compared to 1,476 ships handled during the previous year, berth occupancy fell to 66% from 77%.

On the other hand, the average output per ship at the port touched 21,139 tons in 2015-16, up 19.18% compared to 17,736 tons in 2014-15.

Similarly, pre-berthing detention reduced to 49.09 hours in 2015-16, registering an improvement of 50.26% from 98.69 hours during 2014-15.
