Paradip Port cargo marginally down in July y-o-y

August 8: Cargo handling by the port of Paradip during July 2014 fell slightly by 1.47% to 6.04 million tons (mt) against a volume of 6.13 mt handled in the same month of 2013, a senior official of the port told ICMW.

On a cumulative basis, the port’s total cargo handling for April-June of the current financial year stood at 23.36 mt, slightly up from a volume of 23.13 mt cargo handled in the same period of 2013-14.

Of the total cargo handled by the port, coal’s share during July stood at 2.88 mt, up 5.11% from 2.74 mt handled in July 2013.

On a cumulative basis, the port’s coal handling during April-July, 2014-15 increased nearly 3% to 11.40 mt against a volume of 11.10 mt in the same period of 2013-14, the official said.
