April 21: Paradip Port is likely to revise its tariff rate with retrospective effect from March 4, an official in a shipping company told ICMW.
“Paradip Port is likely to revise their port tariff with retrospective effect from March 4, 2015,” he said.
The tariff circular, however, is yet to be issued by the port authority.
According to the official, the port is likely to charge $0.509 for vessels up to 30,000 gross tons (GRT), $0.407 to vessels between 30,001 and 60,000 GRT and $0.356 for vessels above 60,000 GRT.
“Earlier, as per old rates, the port charged pilotage at $0.407 for vessels above 30,000 GRT,” the official said. “There would be no change for vessel up to 30,000 GRT, however pilotage charges will increase for vessels which are over 30,000 GRT and over 60,000 GRT,” he added.
As per new tariff, charges of a normal supramax vessel except service tax will be 22.78% higher at $16,491 from $13,431 while charges for panamax vessels except service tax will increase 23.88% to $31,752 from $25,632 earlier.
