Paradip Port ready to handle baby capesize vessels

Paradip Port recently announced that, with effect from January 5, it is ready to handle baby capesize vessels after completion of capital dredging of a few berths up to 14.5 metres.
The port, through a trade circular, informed that it can handle vessels of LOA 260 metres, beam of 43 metres and with a maximum draft of 14.5 metres, primarily at CQ-1/CQ-2 berths.
In addition, it will be able to berth baby capesize vessels of LOA 260 metres, beam of 43 metres and with a draft of 12.5 metres at south quay berth.
Berthing of such vessels will be done throughout the year during favourable weather and suitable climatic conditions, the notice added.
