December 11: A volume of 20,694 tons of met coke was imported through Paradip Port in November 2015 against 38,326 tons recorded in October, showing a drop of 46% month-on-month, as per provisional data available with ICMW.
In November 2014, imports of met coke via the port were at a mere 96,554 tons.
Total volumes of met coke imports in the first eight months of the current fiscal of 2015-16 were at 394,784 tons against 525,581 tons recorded in the same period of the previous fiscal (2014-15), declining 24.88% year-on-year.
Total met coke imports through the port during the previous financial year of 2014-15 were at 711,612 tons.

November 2015 saw 14,194 tons arriving from China at a unit price of Rs 9,529 ($143) per ton and the balance 6,500 tons from Colombia at a unit price of Rs 12,712 ($195) per ton.
October 2015 saw 23,826 tons arriving from China at a price range of Rs 9,981 – 14,495 ($151-216) per ton and the balance 14,500 tons from Colombia at a unit price of Rs 12,712 ($195) per ton.
