Paradip’s gypsum imports drop 66% in Nov m-o-m

December 14: Gypsum imports through the port of Paradip were at 43,117 tons in November, 2015 against a far more voluminous 125,825 tons in October 2015, showing a month-on-month drop of 65.73%, as per provisional data available with ICMW.

However, there were no gypsum imports through the port in August-September, 2015 while in the previous month of July, these were at 56,400 tons, as per provisional data available with ICMW, showing an overall erratic trend.

Import volumes of the material in November 2014 were at 164,883’s tons.

Total imports of gypsum in fiscal 2014-15 were at 970,622 tons.

In November, a single consignment arrived from Oman at a unit price of Rs 1,214 ($18).

In October, the consignments arrived from Oman in a price band of Rs 1,260-1,280 ($19) per ton.
