Paradip sees gypsum imports after two-month gap

 November 16: Gypsum imports through the port of Paradip were at a hefty 125,825 tons in October, 2015. However, there were no gypsum imports through the port in August-September, 2015 while in the previous month of July, these were at 56,400 tons, as per provisional data available with ICMW, showing an overall erratic trend.

 Imports of the material in the first seven months of the current fiscal were at 285,725 tons against 465,423 tons recorded in the same period of the previous fiscal.

 Import volumes of the material in October 2014 were at 186,100 tons.

 Total imports of gypsum in fiscal 2014-15 were at 970,622 tons.

In October, the consignments arrived from Oman in a price band of Rs 1,260-1,280 ($19) per ton.

 In July, all the consignments arrived from Oman too but in a price band of Rs 1,158 – Rs 1,353 ($18-21) per ton.
