Pet coke imports through Karaikal drop 37% in Oct

 November 11: Imports of pet coke through Karaikal Port declined by 36.61% to 75,078 tons in October 2015 as compared to 102,568 tons in the preceding month of September, according to provisional data available with ICMW.

 With the imports in October, total pet coke imports through the port during the first seven months (April-October) of 2015-16 stood at 699,166 while imports of the material via Karaikal in the same period of the previous fiscal were not available.

 The following table gives month-on-month pet coke import details through Karaikal Port in 2015-16 and 2014-15:

 In October 2015, around 56,300 tons came from Saudi Arabia at an assessed price of Rs 4,590 ($68) per ton and the remaining 18,778 tons from the United States at Rs 4,590($68) per ton.

In September, around 58,128 tons had come in from Saudi Arabia at an assessed price of Rs 4,564 ($68) per ton.
