Pet coke imports via Kolkata Port drop to 255 tons in January

February 12: Pet coke imports via Kolkata Port dropped to 255 tons in January 2014 against 620 tons in December 2013, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
With this, total pet coke imports via Kolkata Port in the first 10 months of 2013-14 stood at 40,081 tons compared to 101,146 tons recorded during the corresponding period of the previous year.
Total pet coke imports in the entire financial year of 2012-13 stood at 105,248 tons.
In January 2013, imports of the material stood at 7,008 tons.
Following is the break-up of month-wise import of pet coke via Kolkata port in 2012-13 and 2013-14:

In January 2014, all the consignments arrived from China in a price band of Rs 52,268 - Rs 52,897 ($840-$844) per ton.
In December 2013, however, 292 tons arrived from China in a range of Rs 52,226 - Rs 53,853 ($830-$864) per ton and the balance 329 arrived from Germany in a band of Rs 80,151 - Rs 80,576 ($1,274 - $1,293) per ton.
