Pet coke imports via Kolkata Port surge in March m-o-m

April 15: Pet coke imports via Kolkata Port rose manifold to 10,000 tons in March 2014 against a mere 68 tons reported in February 2014, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
With this, total pet coke imports via Kolkata Port for the entire financial year of 2013-14 stood at 50,149 tons compared to 105,146 tons recorded during the previous year, showing a decrease of 52.35% in the just-concluded fiscal compared to the preceding year.
Following is the break-up of month-wise import of pet coke via Kolkata Port in 2012-13 and 2013-14:

In March, the material arrived from China in a price range of Rs 11,029 – Rs 11,470 ($178-$185).
In February, the consignment arrived from China at a unit price of Rs 52,142 ($828).
