September 11: Imports of pet coke via Kolkata port stood at 191 tons in August 2013 against 1,136 tons recorded in July 2013, indicating a sharp drop of 83%, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
Total pet coke imported via Kolkata port stood at 9,898 tons during the first five months of 2013-14 compared to 35,553 tons recorded during the corresponding period of FY'13.

In August 2013, the entire quantity came in from China in a price band of Rs 41,806 –Rs 52,530 ($675-$804) per ton.
In July 2013, however, 136 tons arrived from China at a unit price of Rs 51,364 ($866) while around 1,000 tons came in from Malaysia in a price range of Rs 7,521 – Rs 7,522 ($124).
