Pet coke imports via Kolkata rise to 620 tons in Dec

January 9: Pet coke imports via Kolkata port more than doubled rose to 620 tons in December 2013 against 308 tons reported in November 2013, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
With this, total pet coke imports via Kolkata port in the first nine months of 2013-14 stood at 39,826 tons compared to 94,138 tons recorded during the corresponding period of the previous year.
Total pet coke imports in the entire financial year of 2012-13 stood at 105,248 tons.
In December 2012, imports of the material stood at 11,446 tons, showing a huge drop year-on-year in December 2013.
Following is the break-up of month-wise import of pet coke via Kolkata port in 2012-13 and 2013-14:

In December, 292 tons arrived from China in a range of Rs 52,226 - Rs 53,853 ($830-$864) per ton and the balance 329 arrived from Germany in a band of Rs 80,151 - Rs 80,576 ($1,274 - $1,293) per ton.
In November, all the consignments arrived from China in a price band of Rs 54,450 - Rs 55,773 ($860-$881) per ton.
