Pet coke imports via Kolkata surge to 15,391 tons in June

July 11: Pet coke imports via Kolkata Port surged manifold to 15,391 tons in June 2014 against a mere 1,000 tons in May, according to provisional data available with ICMW.

Imports of the material in June 2013 were at 8,032 tons.

Imports for the first three months of the current fiscal were at 41,741 tons against 8,571 tons reported for the same period in the previous fiscal.

Total pet coke imports via Kolkata Port for the entire financial year of 2013-14 stood at 50,149 tons.

Following is the break-up of month-wise import of pet coke via Kolkata Port in 2013-14 and 2014-15:

In June, all the consignments arrived from China in a range of Rs 13,094 – Rs 49,870 ($219-825) per ton.

In May, a single consignment arrived from Indonesia at a unit price of Rs 12,915 ($212).
