Pet coke imports via New Mangalore falls 4.94% in Jan

March 04: Pet coke imports through the port of New Mangalore stood at 105,516 tons in January 2014 against 110,995 tons reported in the previous month, as per information available with ICMW.
The import of pet coke through the port during the first ten months (April-January) of FY’14 stood at 499,520 tons while the figure stood at 107,304 tons during the corresponding period of the previous financial year.
Following is the monthly break-up of pet coke imports via New Mangalore:

In January 2014, 36,968 tons came from Chile at a price of Rs 10,350 ($166) per ton while 68,549 tons came from USA at a price of Rs 11,675 ($188) per ton.
However, during December 2013, the entire quantity came from the US at a price range of Rs 11,309-Rs 11,788 ($182-$187) per ton whereas in November, the entire quantity came from the US at a price of Rs 12,007 ($190) per ton.
