Pet coke imports via New Mangalore sharply up in Dec

January 8: Pet coke imports through the port of New Mangalore stood at 110,995 tons in December 2013 against 66,822 tons reported in the previous month, as per information available with ICMW.

The import of pet coke through the port during the first nine months (April-December) of FY'14 stood at 394,004 tons while the figure stood at nil during the corresponding period of the previous financial year.

Following is the monthly break-up of pet coke imports via New Mangalore: 

During December 2013, the entire quantity came from the US at a price range of Rs 11,309-Rs 11,788 ($182-$187) per ton whereas in November, the entire quantity came from the US at a price of Rs 12,007 ($190) per ton.
