Pet coke imports via Vizag down 20% in Nov m-o-m

 December 8: Pet coke imports through Vizag Port edged down 20.28% to 127,357 tons in November 2015 against a volume of 159,766 tons in the preceding month of October, according to provisional information available with ICMW.

With the addition of the November figures, total pet coke imports for the first eight months of the current fiscal (2015-16) stood at 827,594 tons against 468,773 tons reported in the same period of the previous fiscal, rising 76.54% in this period year-on-year.

 In November 2014, imports of the material were at a much lower 30,522 tons.

 Total imports of the material in financial year 2014-15 were at 803,601 tons.

Following is the monthly break-up of pet coke imports via Vizag Port in 2015-16 and through 2014-15:

November 2015 saw 24,810 tons arriving from China in a price band of Rs 6,807 – 11,271 ($103 -170) per ton, 81,121 tons from the US at a price band of Rs 5,470 – 5,029 ($67-77) per ton and the balance 21,426 tons from Indonesia at a price of Rs 10,257 ($157)/ton.

October 2015 saw 25,571 tons arriving from China in a price band of Rs 7,610 – 12,374 ($115 -187) per ton, 86,126 tons from the US at a price band of Rs 5,010 – 5,052 ($75-77) per ton, 20,898 tons from Indonesia at a unit price of Rs 11,636 ($178) and the balance 27,171 tons from Azerbaijan at a unit price of Rs 17,807 ($269).
