Pet coke imports via Vizag drop 19.11% m-o-m in June

July 9: Pet coke imports through the port of Vizag decreased 19.11% to 57,694 tons in June 2014 as against 71,331 tons in May, according to provisional information available with ICMW.
In June 2013, PCI coal imports through the port stood at 24,578 tons.
For the first three months of the current fiscal, import volumes stood at 163,440 tons against 183,493 tons recorded in the same period of the previous financial year.
Following is the monthly break-up of pet coke imports via Vizag Port in 2013-14 & 2014-15:

Imports of the material in June comprised 24,696 tons from China in a band of Rs 9,571 – Rs 9,721 ($158-161) per ton and 32,998 tons from Kuwait at a unit price of Rs 12,564 ($210).
Pet coke imports in May 2014 comprised 50,385 tons from China at a price band of Rs 9,900- Rs 13,591($165-$226) and 20,946 tons from Indonesia at a unit price of Rs 11,866 ($197).
