Pet coke imports via Vizag more than treble m-o-m in March

April 11: Pet coke imports through the port of Vizag more than trebled to 105,377 tons in March 2014 against a volume of 25,661 tons reported in February, according to provisional information available with ICMW.
With this, imports of pet coke imports for the entire financial year of 2013-14 stood at 953,435 tons against 717,566 tons recorded during the corresponding period of 2012-13. Consequently, pet coke imports showed an increase of 33% in 2013-14 over the previous fiscal of 2012-13.
Following is the monthly break-up of pet coke imports via Vizag Port in 2012-13 & 2013-14:

In March, pet coke imports through the port included 49,731 tons from China in a price band of Rs 9,599 – Rs 13,815 ($155-$223) per ton, 26,250 tons from Georgia at a unit price of Rs 17,198 ($279) and 29,396 tons from the US at a unit price of Rs 10,406 ($169).
In February, all the pet coke import consignments arrived from China in a price range of Rs 10,432- Rs 25,821 ($168-$410) per ton.
