Pet coke imports via Vizag up 11.29% m-o-m in July

August 28: Pet coke imports through the port of Vizag increased 11.29% to 64,211 tons in July 2014 as against 57,694 tons reported in June, according to provisional information available with ICMW.
In July 2013, PCI coal imports through the port stood at 74,041 tons.
For the first four months of the current fiscal, import volumes stood at 227,651 tons against 257,534 tons recorded in the same period of the previous financial year.
Following is the monthly break-up of pet coke imports via Vizag Port in 2013-14 & 2014-15:

In July, imports comprised 37,318 tons from China in a band of Rs 8,271 – Rs 11,970 ($136-197) per ton while the balance 26,893 tons came in from the US at a unit price of Rs 13,118 ($218).
Imports of the material in June comprised 24,696 tons from China in a band of Rs 9,571 – Rs 9,721 ($158-161) per ton and 32,998 tons from Kuwait at a unit price of Rs 12,564 ($210).
