New UserPipavav Port’s steam coal imports rise 30% in FY16

Imports of steam coal through Pipavav Port stood at 111,541 tons in March 2016, up 9.23% compared to 111,541 tons reported in February 2015, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
Total imports of the material for 2015-16 (April to February) were at 889,311 tons, up 29.95% from 738,836 tons from the same period in the previous fiscal (2014-15), though, for seven months in the current fiscal, no figures were available.
Imports amounted to 161,051 tons in March 2015.

In February 2016, around 18,015 tons were imported from Indonesia at a unit price of Rs 2,653 ($39). Further details of the remaining 83,224 tons were not available.
