Plan outlay for coal, lignite at Rs 12,561 crore

December 4: The overall plan outlay for 2014-15 for the coal and lignite sector, including the plan outlay of the PSUs, stands at Rs 12,561 crore, said Piyush Goyal, (Minister of state for Power, Coal & New and Renewable Energy (Independent Charge) in a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha on December 4.

Of the total outlay, share of Coal India Limited (CIL) is Rs 5,225 crore while shares of Singareni Collieries Co Limited (SCCL) and Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC) are at Rs 3,850 crore and Rs 2,936 crore respectively, he said.

The minister further stated that the outlay for the plan schemes of the Ministry of Coal is Rs 550 crore.

“There is, however, no foreign assistance in the budget of the Ministry of Coal,” he added.
