October 21: There was poor demand for G-5 grade (GCV 5,801 to 6,100 Kcal/kg) coal offered by four subsidiaries of Coal India Ltd (CIL) (ECL, SECL, WCL and NCL) for allotment through the e-auction platform of MSTC in September 2013, as 80,760 tons got allotted against the offered quantity of 215,350 tons.
In August, out of 262,940 tons of this grade offered by six subsidiaries of CIL, as much as 152,700 tons got allotted at a moderate premium over the reserve price.
The weighted average price of this grade of coal in September 2013 was at Rs 3,358.89 against Rs 3,241.48 in August.
