Poor demand for G-8 grade coal in Aug e-auction

September 26: There was poor demand for G-8 grade (GCV 4,901 to 5,200 Kcal/kg) coal offered on the MSTC platform by CCL, a subsidiary of CIL, in August 2014 as 500 tons were offered from which only 200 tons got allotted at a weighted average price of Rs 2,028 per ton.
However, there was moderate demand for G-8 grade in July 2014 as 25,000 tons were offered from which 15,480 tons got allotted at a weighted average price of Rs 2,028 per ton.
On the other hand, fair demand was witnessed for this grade in June as 1,45,000 tons were offered from which 123,000 tons got allotted at a weighted average price of Rs 2,557 per ton.
