March 26: There was poor demand for G9 grade (GCV 4,601 to 4,900 Kcal/kg) coal offered through the MSTC platform in February 2014 by CCL and WCL, as out of the 288,250 tons offered, 80,040 tons got allotted at a weighted average price of Rs 2,225 per ton.
However, there was good demand for G-9 grade coal offered through the MSTC platform in January 2014 by CCL, MCL and WCL, as out of the 509,350 tons offered, 487,350 tons got allotted at a weighted average price of Rs 1,754 per ton.
On the other hand, there was moderate demand for G9 grade coal offered through the MSTC platform in December 2013 by CCL and WCL, as out of the 473,000 tons offered, 159,580 tons got allotted.
