Poor response to Vizag Port’s cranes tender

December 31: Vizag Port, which had floated a tender to procure two mobile harbour cranes, has received a very poor response so far, a port official informed ICMW.

Procurement of the above had been delayed for long but now the process is expected to be completed in the next 2-3 months, a senior official from the port said.

”We have two mobile harbour cranes and are planning to procure two more. Accordingly, we floated a tender but so far received only one response. But, as per the government rule, we cannot accept one participant and are not supposed to open the tender. We are waiting for more responses and expect to procure the same in the next 2-3 months,” he said.

He, however, did not say whether the port is planning to refloat the tender if sufficient responses do not come by after a stipulated time period.
