Power Grid Corp to invest Rs 5547.90 crore on various projects

April 22: Power Grid Corp Ltd plans to invest Rs 5547.90 crore on various projects, including those in North Eastern India, to improve its network, the company said in a filing to BSE.

A proposal to this effect was approved by the company’s board in its meeting on April 17, the filing said.

Of the total investment Rs 5184.91 crore in two parts would be spend on inter-state transmission scheme, Rs 120.72 crore on establishment of fibre optic communication system in western region and Rs 80.73 crore on same facility in North-Eastern Region.

It will spend Rs 85.31 crore on establishment of communication system under expansion/upgrade of SCAD/EMS system at state load dispatch centers of eastern region and Rs 76.23 crore on radial inter-connection between India (NER) and Bangladesh- Indian portion

All projects are estimated to be completed within one –three years after the date of investment approval, the company said.
