Power stocks have been showing a downward trend since Monday. On February 12, they were down even though the global trends were positive.
The S&P BSE Power index decreased 3.86 points (0.24%) to close at 1,617.55 on February 12 from the previous closing of 1,621.41. The highs and lows on February 12 were 1,630.95 and 1,591.29 respectively.
The performance of the global indices was strong on Friday. Global markets such as CAC, DAX and FTSE as well as the Indian Sensex all closed in the green on Friday against their previous close.
The Sensex increased 34.29 points (0.15%) to close at 22,986.12
The performance of individual power stocks were mixed. The highest growth was registered by Suzlon Energy which gained 5.43% to close at Rs 13.6. The maximum loss was registered by BHEL which lost 13.33% to close at Rs 104.55.
