The power index held its strength despite the negative sentiment seen in the Sensex and other global indices. According to market experts, power scrips were gaining momentum and were trying to emerge from the range-bound phase.
The S&P BSE Power index decreased 10.92 points (0.63%) to close at 1,732.26. on March 28 from the previous closing of 1,743.18. The highs and lows on March 28 were 1,751.31 and 1,724.59 respectively.
Global markets such as CAC, DAX and FTSE all were trading down 1.-2%. The Sensex also followed the same trend.
The Sensex decreased 371.16 points (1.46%) to close at 24,966.40.
On March 28, most of the stocks on the S&P BSE Power closed in the green. The maximum gain was registered by ABB India, with the stock increasing 2.74% to close at Rs 1236.20. The maximum loss was registered by JSW Energy, with the stock decreasing 6.13% to close at Rs 65.9.
