The power index remained red on Friday as well despite an upward movement of global indices. The index remained choppy and directionless for the last couple of days.
The S&P BSE Power index decreased 7.94 points (0.46%) to close at 1,702.95 on March 11 from the previous closing of 1,710.89. The highs and lows on March 10 were 1,727.51 and 1,704.68 respectively.
Global markets such as CAC, DAX and FTSE closed up 1-2% on Friday from the previous closes. The Sensex also remained in red.
The Sensex increased 94.65 points (0.38%) to close at 24,717.99.
On March 11, most of the stocks on the S&P BSE Power closed in the red. The maximum gain was registered by Alstom R&D, with the stock increasing 4% to close at Rs 398.65. The maximum loss was registered by Crompton Greaves, which decreased 3.02% to close at Rs 146.35.
