The power index was up on Friday due to the overall positive sentiment and global cues.
The S&P BSE Power index increased 19.90 points (1.19%) to close at 1,696.32 on March 4 from the previous closing of 1,676.42. The highs and lows on March 4 were 1,700.57 and 1,655.59 respectively.
Global markets such as CAC, DAX as well as the Indian Sensex all closed up 1-2% on Friday from the previous closes.
The Sensex increased 39.49 points (0.16%) to close at 24,646.48.
On March 4, most of the stocks on the S&P BSE Power closed in the green. The maximum gain was registered by ABB India, with the stock increasing 5.92% to close at Rs 1,138.6. The maximum loss was registered by PTC India, which decreased 0.71% to close at Rs 62.55.
