The power index was marginally up on Thursday due to the overall positive sentiment and global cues.
The S&P BSE Power index increased 22.00 points (1.33%) to close at 1,676.42 on March 2 from the previous closing of 1,654.42. The highs and lows on March 3 were 1,679.79 and 1,655.59 respectively.
Global markets such as CAC, DAX as well as the Indian Sensex all closed up 1-2% on Wednesday from the previous closes.
The Sensex increased 364.01 points (1.50%) to close at 24,606.99.
On March 3, most of the stocks on the S&P BSE Power closed in the green. The maximum gain was registered by Suzlon Energy, with the stock increasing 8.85% to close at Rs 97.25. The maximum loss was registered by PTC India, which decreased 0.32% to close at Rs 63.
