Power ministry to take call on MSEDRB soon

September 9: The Ministry of Power is likely take up for discussion and give final shape to the Model State Electricity Distribution Responsibility Bill (MSEDRB) soon, an official statement said on September 9.

The said Bill, a part of the financial restructuring of the sector, is currently under active consideration of the ministry.

The objective of the Bill is to provide for responsibilities of the state government to ensure financial and operational turnaround and long-term sustainability of the state-owned distribution licensee to enable adequate and affordable electricity supply to consumers through financial restructuring.
