RPower Q3 net rises 38% to Rs 351.81 cr y-o-y

Reliance Power Ltd (RPower) has registered a 38.30% increase in its consolidated net profit during the third quarter (October-December) of 2015-16 at Rs 351.81 crore compared to Rs 254.44 crore reported in the same quarter of the previous fiscal.

 

Quarter-on-quarter, the consolidated net profit in Q3 was 1.8% higher compared to Rs 345.63 crore in Q2 (July-September) of the financial year.

 

For the first nine months of the current fiscal from April to December, 2015, the consolidated profit was Rs 1,041.79 crore, down marginally from Rs 1,028.32 crore reported in the same period the previous fiscal.

 

The Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group Company said total gross generation from operating plants increased by more than three times to 10,548 million units during the quarter against 3,167 million units in the year-ago period.

 

The company’s Sasan project in Madhya Pradesh generated a total of 8,158 million units (MU), operating at a plant load factor (PLF) of 93.3%, while the Rosa plant in Uttar Pradesh generated 1,342 MU and Butibori plant in Maharashtra 1,022 MU.

 

The company said that its cost of fuel remained flat at Rs 1,032.90 crore on a yearly basis but sequentially it declined 17.6%. Depreciation and amortisation costs climbed 100% year-on-year to Rs 277.5 crore due to the Sasan project.
