RRVUNL yet to open price bid

September 9: Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd (RRVUNL) which had floated a global tender to procure 1.8 million tons of imported coal is yet to open the price bid, an industry source said.

"The technical bid of the tender was opened before the middle of August, but the price bid is yet to be opened," the sources said.

The company has been given target to import 2.0 mt of coal in 2013-14 by the Central Electricity Authority (CEA), but its total imports during the first quarter stood at 0.211 mt.

Meanwhile, RRVUNL has requested Coal India Ltd (CIL) not to supply excess domestic coal to its plants as the power generator is facing problem in storing the material, an official of CIL said.
