Railways, MoC, Odisha in rail infrastructure JV

April 20: A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed by the Ministry of Railways (MoR), Ministry of Coal (MoC) and government of Odisha for development of rail infrastructure for evacuation of coal through the formation of a joint venture (JV) to undertake project development, financing and implementation of identified projects. MoR, MoC and the state government will participate in the equity on its own or through its public sector undertakings (PSUs) as nominated.
The MoC or its nominated PSU will hol 64% in the JV while the MoR or its nominated PSU will hold 26% and the government of Odisha 10%.
Some of the workd will include the Brundamal-Jharsuguda-Fly-over connection for joinining down line (6.6 km), Sambalpur-Talcher doubling (174 km) and Sambalpur-Titlagarh (182 km) doubling.
